Authenticated router crash via PPTP list overflow
Published Aug 31, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda AC9 15.03.05.19 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router through a crafted PPTP user-list request. The /goform/setPptpUserList handler writes an oversized list parameter beyond the bounds of a stack buffer, corrupting adjacent memory. A low-privileged management session is required, and successful exploitation interrupts router service.
