Authenticated code execution via writable installation binaries
Published Aug 30, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Incorrect access control in Wampserver 3.2.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The C:\Wamp64 installation directory applies permissions that let nonadministrative authenticated users overwrite executable binaries. Access to the writable installation path is required; malicious code runs when a replaced binary is launched under that process's account.
