Authenticated root command execution via ping parameter
Published Aug 29, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in Seiko SkyBridge MB-A100/A110 4.2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute shell commands as root. The 07system08execute_ping_01.cgi WebUI ping handler accepts shell syntax in the ipAddress POST parameter and passes it to the operating system. Administrative WebUI access, including access through unchanged default credentials, is required; successful injection grants root-level command execution.
