Root command execution via undisclosed CLI input
Published Aug 29, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Command injection in Hytec Inter HWL-2511-SS firmware 1.05 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute commands with root privileges. Public disclosures identify the CLI implementation as the vulnerable locus but do not identify the accepted input, invoked command, or missing validation. Network access is sufficient without authentication or user interaction, and successful exploitation grants complete command execution as root.
