Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized IP parameter
Published Aug 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Command injection in TOTOLINK N350RT 9.3.5u.6139_B20201216 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via a crafted ip value. setDiagnosisCfg formats the unvalidated ip parameter with sprintf and sends the result to dosystem, which ultimately invokes system. The published proof of concept posts to /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi without authentication, and successful exploitation executes commands with root privileges.
