Unauthenticated code execution via unbounded sscanf parsing
Published Aug 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in AddWlanMacList in H3C B5 Mini B5MiniV100R005 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted param value. AddWlanMacList parses the semicolon-delimited param field with unbounded sscanf scansets into fixed-size stack buffers V5 and V13. Access to the router management endpoint is sufficient; exploitation can restart the process or yield a root shell without authentication.
