Root code execution via unbounded WPS parameter
Published Aug 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in WlanWpsSet in H3C B5 Mini B5MiniV100R005 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted HTTP form parameter. WlanWpsSet parses the attacker-controlled param value with sscanf using an unbounded %[^;] conversion into a fixed-size stack buffer. The published proof of concept reaches the router management endpoint without authentication, restarts the process, and documents a stable root shell.
