CVE-2022-36442

Unauthorized APK installation via embedded Chrome

Published Jan 10, 2023 · Updated May 30, 2025

Improper access control in Zebra Enterprise Home Screen 4.1.19 allows local users to install unauthorized APKs through embedded Chrome. The launcher leaves the embedded Chrome download-to-install path accessible instead of enforcing its application restrictions on APK installation. Low-privileged access to the locked-down device is required, and the consequence is installation of attacker-chosen applications on that device.
