Authenticated plugin deactivation via unchecked settings save
Published Sep 6, 2022 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in Beaver Builder Page Builder 2.5.4.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to disable the WordPress plugin. The save_settings function processes a settings-changing request without checking the caller's WordPress capability before applying the plugin-disable setting. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and successful exploitation deactivates Beaver Builder, interrupting layouts and editing functionality that depend on it.
