CVE-2022-36403

Local code execution via insecure installer DLL loading

Published Sep 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Untrusted DLL loading in Ricoh Device Software Manager before 2.20.3.0 allows local users to execute code with installer privileges. The installer searches an unsafe DLL path and loads a Trojan horse DLL from an unspecified directory instead of a trusted location. Exploitation requires local users to place the DLL and persuade another user to run the installer; already-installed software is unaffected.
