Local privilege escalation via undisclosed BIOS authentication flaw
Published Nov 11, 2022 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Improper authentication in Intel NUC BIOS firmware before MYi30060 allows local users with high privileges to escalate privileges. Intel has not published the authentication locus or the incorrect operation performed on security-relevant BIOS state. Exploitation requires privileged local access and high-complexity conditions, and successful use raises authority beyond that existing context.
