Local privilege escalation through undisclosed access control flaw
Published Feb 16, 2023 · Updated Jan 27, 2025
Improper access control in Intel QATzip before 1.0.9 allows local users to gain elevated privileges through local access. Intel has not published the affected code locus or the access-control operation that mishandles an unprivileged caller. A low-privileged account is required, and successful exploitation grants elevated access with the ability to read or alter protected data and interrupt the host.
