Administrator browser script execution via unvalidated settings
Published Oct 24, 2022 · Updated May 7, 2025
Stored XSS in the IPFire WebUI before 2.27 Core Update 170 allows remote authenticated users with admin rights to run scripts. The mail.cgi recipient and proxy.cgi domain-list handlers store values without the validation added by the vendor patches, allowing markup to reach administrative pages. An administrator must submit the payload, and execution occurs when another administrator opens the stored content in a browser.
