Unauthenticated data access via missing device token
Published Jun 12, 2023 · Updated Jan 3, 2025
Authentication bypass in Western Digital cloud-storage and ibi firmware allows remote attackers to access account data through proxy connections. The token authentication mechanism accepts a proxy connection without requiring a proper device token, allowing the connection to assume a device identity. No credentials are required, and the vendor reports access to stored account data; broader code execution requires chaining with other flaws.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
