Information disclosure via reflected directory URL parameters
Published Dec 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Information disclosure in Mozilla Firefox, Firefox ESR, and Thunderbird allows remote attackers to expose data via crafted URL parameters. The nsDirectoryIndexStream plaintext serializer copies a full chrome:// directory URL, including its query string, into generated source text instead of stripping parameters. Exploitation requires user interaction to open a crafted bundled-resource directory as source, and public records report confidentiality impact only.
