Browser script execution via echoed upload MIME type
Published Jul 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Vesta 1.0.0-5 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser through a crafted upload MIME type. UploadHandler.php copies the client-supplied file type into a file object, JSON-encodes the response, and body() echoes it without output neutralization. Exploitation requires user interaction, and the resulting script executes within that browser's Vesta origin.
