Browser script execution via echoed upload type
Published Jul 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Vesta 1.0.0-5 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser via a crafted upload MIME type. UploadHandler.php copies the client-controlled MIME type into a file object, generate_response JSON-encodes that object, and body() echoes the result without browser-safe neutralization. User interaction is required to render the response; the script can read or alter data available to the victim's Vesta browser session.
