CVE-2022-36301Network attack vector

Administrative access via weak password enforcement

Published Aug 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Weak password requirements in Robert Bosch GmbH BF-OS 3.0 through 3.83 allow remote attackers to gain administrative access. The device authentication configuration accepts passwords without enforcing sufficient length or complexity, leaving the device password susceptible to remote brute-force guessing. No prior privileges or user interaction are required; a recovered device password grants administrative privileges to the device.
