CVE-2022-36263

Local code execution via CreateProcessW binary hijacking

Published Aug 19, 2022 · Updated Jun 27, 2025

Binary hijacking in Streamlabs Desktop 1.9.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary code by supplying a crafted executable. The obs64.exe launch passes an incompletely specified executable to CreateProcessW, allowing Windows search-order resolution to select the attacker-supplied file. A local low-privileged user must supply the file and induce victim interaction; successful execution runs the file in the victim's context.
