Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via path traversal
Published Aug 23, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in taoCMS 3.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files through the file-management endpoint. The File model's delete action passes the request's path parameter to file deletion without confining it to an allowed directory. Administrative login is required; deleting data/install.lock permits reinstallation, while traversal sequences reach files outside the managed directory.
