Converter crash via invalid HEIF item reference
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in Monostream tifig 0.2.2 allows local users to crash the converter by processing a crafted HEIF file. SingleItemTypeReferenceBox::getToItemIds() copies an invalid vector object and calls size() through a near-null address while item data is read. A local user must supply the file and cause tifig to convert it; AddressSanitizer shows the affected process aborting without data disclosure or modification.
