Stored script execution via unencoded template descriptions
Published Jul 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Better PDF Exporter for Jira 10.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in other users’ browsers. The PDF template editor stores the description without context-sensitive HTML encoding, and the overview inserts it into a table cell as executable markup. An attacker must be able to edit a PDF template, and execution occurs when another logged-in user opens the PDF Templates overview.
