Remote code execution in Inductive Automation Ignition before 7.9.20 and 8.x before 8.1.17 allows remote authenticated users to run Python scripts. The legacy Gateway RPC ScriptInvoke function compiles and executes user-supplied Python code at runtime without an adequate authorization check. Exploitation normally requires privileged access; a separate session-hijacking flaw bypasses that gate in the published attack chain.
