Local file execution via unchecked help URL update
Published Aug 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper access control in SS&C Blue Prism Enterprise 6.0 through 7.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to alter offline help content. The Application Server's UpdateOfflineHelpData function accepts a user-selected help URL from any Blue Prism account without enforcing administrative authorization. Exposure requires a misconfigured, network-reachable Application Server; abuse can spoof the help page or cause a local file to execute.
