CVE-2022-36090Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account reactivation via omitted inactive-user check

Published Sep 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

Improper authorization in XWiki Platform 1.1 through 13.10.4 and 14.0 before 14.3-rc-1 allows remote authenticated users to reactivate accounts. REST and extension resource handlers accept authentication results without routing them through XWiki#checkAuth, omitting the inactive-user state check. A valid disabled or unactivated account is required; reactivation restores its existing access, while unprotected extension handlers expose further authorized actions.
