Hashed credential disclosure via delayed file URL check
Published Nov 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Information exposure in Electron allows remote attackers to obtain hashed NTLM credentials when an application follows a crafted SMB redirect. A cross-scheme file URL check occurs only after Windows begins the SMB connection and its NTLM authentication attempt. The issue requires an Electron application to follow an attacker-controlled redirect; the renderer cannot read the target file.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
