Code execution via dyld cache count overflow
Published Sep 6, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Rizin 0.4.0 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to execute code via a malicious dyld cache file. The get_rebase_infos function sums header-supplied n_slide_infos counts without rejecting 32-bit wraparound, then allocates too few entries. A user must open the file; the resulting overwrite can execute code in the Rizin process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
