CVE-2022-36034Network attack vector

Service interruption via polynomial regular expression

Published Aug 29, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Regular expression denial of service in cainthebest nitrado.js before 0.2.5 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via crafted input. The input-processing regular expression performs polynomial-time matching and consumes CPU on double opening braces followed by many repeated double opening braces and vertical bars. Reachability requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled text to the library; no authentication or user interaction is required.
