Denial of service in TensorFlow before 2.7.2 and in 2.8.0 or 2.9.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt processing via malformed ragged tensors. The RaggedTensorToVariant kernel previously accepted rt_nested_splits tensors with ranks other than one, triggering a CHECK failure instead of returning an input error. Remote exploitation requires an exposed TensorFlow application to process attacker-controlled tensors; the consequence is process termination and service interruption without reported data disclosure or modification.
