CVE-2022-36017Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Process crash via unchecked Requantize tensor ranks

Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Improper input validation in Google TensorFlow before 2.7.2, plus 2.8.0 and 2.9.0, allows remote attackers to crash a process. RequantizeOp::Compute reads the first float from four range tensors without first requiring scalar shapes, so a nonzero-rank argument triggers a segmentation fault. Reachability requires an application to pass attacker-controlled tensors to Requantize; the demonstrated consequence is process termination and resulting service interruption.
