Process crash via unchecked sample-rate tensor shape
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Reachable assertion in Google TensorFlow 2.7.1 and earlier, 2.8.0, and 2.9.0 allows attackers to crash the process via AudioSummaryV2. SummaryAudioOp reads a multi-element sample_rate tensor through its scalar accessor without first requiring exactly one aligned element, causing a CHECK failure. The attacker must influence an executed computation graph or direct operation inputs; the bounded consequence is termination of the hosting TensorFlow process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
