CVE-2022-35975Network attack vector

Code execution via crafted Flux object

Published Aug 18, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Command injection in Weaveworks GitOps Tools for Visual Studio Code 0.7.0 through 0.20.2 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted Flux object. The extension passes attacker-controlled Flux object data into an OS command without neutralizing command metacharacters; published material does not identify the field or function. Exploitation requires interaction with a malicious object in a shared Kubernetes cluster and runs commands with the VS Code user's privileges.
