Administrator cookie theft via unescaped reviewer name
Published Sep 2, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Cross-site scripting in PrestaShop Product Comments before 5.0.2 allows remote attackers to steal an administrator cookie. The renderAuthorName method inserts a review author's unescaped name into the back-office comments list, allowing attacker-controlled script to execute when an administrator views it. Exploitation requires an administrator to open the affected back-office view; the demonstrated consequence is theft of that administrator's session cookie.
