Remote code execution via class-loader data binding
Published Jul 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Data-binding RCE in affected Grails Framework releases allows remote attackers to execute code through crafted web requests. The data-binding logic processes an attacker-controlled property path that reaches the application class loader instead of restricting that sensitive path. Exploitation requires Java 8 and a reachable data-binding path in an executable JAR or WAR deployment, and executes code inside the application runtime.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
