Administrator token theft via stored repository-name XSS

Published Aug 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stored XSS in Jellyfin before 10.8 allows remote authenticated users to steal an administrator access token through a repository name. SetRepositories accepted repository changes from low-privileged accounts, and the repository name rendered stored script markup in the administrator's browser. A low-privileged account must save the payload and an administrator must open the plugins repository page; the token permits administrator API actions.
