Information disclosure via FBX parser out-of-bounds read
Published Jul 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Bentley MicroStation and Bentley View before 10.17.0 allows attackers to disclose process memory via a crafted FBX file. The FBX parser reads beyond a buffer boundary when it processes crafted file data; Bentley has not identified the affected routine or faulty bounds operation. Exploitation requires a user to open the file in an affected application and exposes information available to the current process, without reported write or execution impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
