Information disclosure via J2K parser out-of-bounds read
Published Jul 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds reads in Bentley MicroStation and Bentley View before 10.17.0.x allow attackers to read process information via crafted J2K files. The J2K parser reads beyond a buffer boundary when it processes malformed data embedded in a J2K file. Exploitation requires a user to open the file in an affected application and exposes information readable in the current process without altering data or interrupting service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
