Information disclosure via JP2 parser over-read
Published Jul 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Bentley MicroStation and Bentley View before 10.17.0 allows attackers to read process memory via a crafted JP2 file. The JP2 parser reads beyond the supplied data's bounds when the application opens the file. Exploitation requires a user to open the file; the over-read exposes information available to the current process without allowing data modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Published CVSS scores
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
