Memory disclosure and service interruption via unsafe logging
Published Oct 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Format string injection in Abode iota All-In-One Security Kit 6.9X and 6.9Z allows remote attackers to disclose memory or interrupt service. The testWifiAP XCMD handler places the untrusted default_key_id value in a command buffer, then passes that buffer as the format argument to log. An attacker must modify the configuration value and invoke the XCMD; crafted directives can expose stack data, corrupt memory, or crash the hub.
