Memory corruption via externally controlled log format
Published Oct 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Format-string injection in Abode Systems iota All-In-One Security Kit 6.9X and 6.9Z allows remote attackers to corrupt memory. The do_test_wifiap routine builds a command from wpapsk and passes that attacker-controlled command as the format argument to the variadic log wrapper. WPA or WPA2 PSK mode and a prior wpapsk change are required; stack output is limited to a physically connected UART, while memory corruption can interrupt the hub.
