Unsafe deserialization in Inductive Automation Ignition 8.1.15 allows remote attackers to execute SYSTEM-level code through a project ZIP import. The project importer deserializes embedded project resources from the ZIP archive without adequately validating attacker-controlled data. Exploitation requires a user with Config Page or Designer privileges to import the crafted project, after which code runs as the Ignition service account.
