Credential disclosure via world-readable provisioning logs
Published May 18, 2023 · Updated Jul 8, 2025
Information disclosure in Azure Arc Jumpstart before 2.0 allows local users to read deployment credentials from provisioning logs. The client-provisioning script writes service principal, database, and other secrets in plaintext to a Custom Script Extension status log readable by every local account. Any local account can recover those credentials; reused service principals or database accounts extend the exposure to their associated privileges and systems.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
