File disclosure and SSRF via SAML entity expansion
Published Jul 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
XXE in Apache CloudStack 4.5.0 through 4.16.1.0 and 4.17.0.0 allows remote attackers to read management-server files. The enabled SAML 2.0 Service Provider plugin passes attacker-controlled authentication XML to parsers that permit external entity resolution. The plugin is disabled by default; when enabled, entity resolution permits file reads, server-side requests, and management-server denial of service.
