Service interruption via malformed db2expln SQL
Published Sep 13, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Denial of service in IBM Db2 10.5, 11.1, and 11.5 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service through db2expln. The db2expln utility accepts a specially crafted malformed SQL statement, but IBM has not disclosed the faulty operation performed on it. A valid low-privilege Db2 context is required, and the documented consequence is limited to service availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
