Internal resource access via unrestricted iframe fetching
Published Aug 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SSRF in wkhtmltopdf 0.12.6 allows remote attackers to access internal network resources through attacker-supplied HTML. Its Qt WebKit renderer follows an iframe source URL embedded in the HTML without restricting the destination to approved hosts or blocking internal addresses. Exposure requires an application to pass untrusted HTML to the converter, and successful requests can disclose resources reachable from the converter's host.
