Service interruption via oversized index parameter
Published Aug 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in the wifiSSIDget handler in Tenda W6 1.0.0.9(4122) allows remote attackers to interrupt service via HTTP. The formwrlSSIDget function processes an index value containing 4,096 attacker-controlled bytes and overflows its stack. The management endpoint must be network-reachable; the published request carries an empty authentication cookie, and successful exploitation interrupts device availability.
