Process crash via crafted OpenType font
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in OTFCC 0.10.4 allows context-dependent attackers to crash otfccdump by supplying a crafted OpenType font. The public record identifies only the crashing otfccdump offset and does not disclose the parser routine or invalid read operation. Exploitation requires a user or consuming workflow to process the crafted font, and the documented consequence is a process crash rather than data disclosure or code execution.
