Process crash via crafted OpenType font
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in OTFCC 0.10.4 allows remote attackers to crash otfccdump by inducing a user to process a crafted OpenType font. The public record identifies only an otfccdump binary offset and does not disclose which parser routine reads beyond its buffer. Exploitation requires a user to pass the attacker-controlled font to the command-line utility; the documented consequence is a process crash only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
