Application crash via out-of-bounds font read
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Heap-buffer overflow in OTFCC 0.10.4 allows context-dependent attackers to crash otfccdump via a crafted OpenType font file. The otfccdump font parser reads beyond an allocated heap buffer while processing malformed font data, as shown by AddressSanitizer at offset 0x6e41a8. Exploitation requires a user or consuming workflow to process the attacker-supplied font, and the demonstrated consequence is termination of the parsing process.
