Process crash via crafted font file
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Denial of service in OTFCC 0.10.4 allows attackers to crash otfccdump by causing it to process a crafted OpenType font file. The published record identifies only a segmentation violation at otfccdump offset 0x4fe9a7 and does not disclose the failing parser operation. Exploitation requires a user or calling workflow to pass attacker-controlled font input to otfccdump; the demonstrated consequence is a process crash.
